Refer-a-Friend Programme Terms & Conditions
ShopBack rewards you with an incentive for every qualified referral*.
*A "qualified referral” refers to the status of your referral after completion of the following:
(i) signs up via your unique referral link or unique referral code or unique e-mail address,
(ii) makes an accumulated minimum spend of $20 stated or more through ShopBack.
(iii) has their Cashback of $10 confirmed (excludes bonus Cashback)
It is only upon completion of all of the above within 180 days from friend sign up date that a referral will be considered "qualified", and the referral bonus and friend bonus will be paid out. The referral bonus for the referrer and friend will expire if all of the above is not completed within 180 days from the friend sign up date.
Additional information for each points above:
i.i) Your referred friend must sign up via a unique device (mobile/desktop/tablet) to prevent having their referral bonus forfeited.
ii.i) Your referred friend's first purchase must not stacked with other new customer promotions (Eg. Ongoing programmes like - Everything at $1)
ii.ii) Any order that does not earn Cashback, or is cancelled, exchanged, or refunded, will not count towards the minimum spend.
ii.iii) The following merchants are excluded from the qualifying spend: Barnes & Noble, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Cyberlink, Kohl's, Lens.com, Mindvalley, Survey Wall, and Airbnb.
Please note that ShopBack reserves the right to add or amend the list.
The status of your referral bonus will appear as ‘Pending’ in both accounts once your referred friend signs up.
The status of your referral bonus will move to ‘Confirmed’ once your referred friend meets all the criteria highlighted above within 180 days from friend sign up date.
The status of your referral bonus may take up to 48 hours to update to ‘Confirmed’ from the moment all criteria is met.
The status of your referral bonus may move to 'Rejected' if all criteria is not met within 180 days from friend sign up date.
The following is a non-exhaustive list of activities that are not permitted and that will disqualify you from earning referral bonuses:
(i) self-referral,
(ii) posting your referral link on any ShopBack merchant's Facebook or forum page,
(iii) disguising your referral link as a generic link and populating it within web pages,
(iv) keyword bidding for the purpose of generating traffic to pages containing your referral link, and
(v) any similar activity determined by ShopBack in its sole discretion to be inconsistent with the purpose of ShopBack's Refer-a-friend Programme.
ShopBack reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to amend and vary the terms and conditions of this programme as set out above, as well as to disqualify any users at any point of time. Any infringement of the above terms and conditions would result in the loss of all bonuses. Repeat offences would result in the closure of your ShopBack account.
Refer-A-Friend Frequently Asked Questions
Why have I not received the program bonus even when both of us have completed the criteria?
- Possible reasons are that your friend didn’t sign up via your unique referral link, code, or e-mail address. Note: The last referrer link clicked by your friend will be attributed the bonus.
- Or some of the purchases are not valid. It is advised to review the pending transaction if it has been cancelled, exchanged, or refunded.

What types of purchases are valid for the Refer-a-Friend programme?
- Most purchases your friend makes through ShopBack that earn Cashback are eligible. This includes Online Cashback, ShopBack Pay, and Vouchers.
- For purchases that do not earn Cashback, or are cancelled, exchanged, or refunded, they will not count towards the minimum spend.

Must my friend complete & purchase the minimum spend amount required in one single transaction?
- No, the $20 minimum spend refers to a total amount, which can be met in one transaction or multiple transactions.
- The criteria are successful when all the Cashback for the relevant transactions is confirmed.
When and how will my referral bonus be tracked and confirmed?
- We start tracking the Refer-a-Friend bonus progress once your friend signs up with ShopBack.
- You get a bonus when the referral criteria are met. Note that the criteria for the referrer are different from the criteria for the referred friend. Some of the criteria involve a minimum spend on purchases. These are recognized as complete when the associated Cashback is confirmed.

What if my friend’s Cashback is rejected?
- If any of the Cashback is rejected, the associated purchase will not count towards the minimum spend total.
- Their Cashback could be rejected if they use a conflicting offer or if they subsequently cancel, exchange, or get a refund on a purchase. They may make more purchases to meet the minimum spend criteria.
